Juan Soler

Juan Soler es escultor, uno de esos insólitos creadores que integran el centro de gravedad en el arte, y que moldeando, cera, barro o bronce levantan de la tierra apariencias humanas más reales que nosotros; juntan o enhebran placas o masas de materiales con sus propiedades físicas estiradas que parecen tocar con un dedo el mundo inmaterial y hablar un idioma animado que nunca sabíamos que podíamos comprender.

Para acercarse a Juan Soler, es mejor saber que nos enfrentamos a un hombre cincelado a sí mismo con la energía moral y física de los artistas del renacimiento. Alquimista romántico (estudió la carrera de Químicas) y artista en el sentido riguroso que la facultad de Bellas Artes de Granada le acredita.

Sus prodigiosas y disciplinadas manos dibujan, pintan, esculpen y arreglan cualquier mecanismo y fabrican desde un horno donde fundir bronce a una escultura de mujer que nos hace soñar en francés o italiano. La Torre de Montaigne ha visitado el taller de Juan. Allí cuadros, esculturas, diseños de joyas y de telas, retablos de iglesia y un sin fin de creaciones de todo tipo de arte han desfilado ante nuestros asombrados ojos. Sus obras se venden en París, Madrid, Londres y sus escenografías para teatro han recorrido medio mundo. Es en París donde las obras de Juan Soler tienen un reconocimiento especial, y en donde el artista pasa temporadas que le estimulan la creación y le sirven para distanciarse y adquirir nuevas perspectivas y horizontes en su labor creativa.

París, Granada, Nápoles, Lima son ciudades que siempre llevará en su maletín de pintor.
