Crónica napolitana

El blanco, la luz del paisaje mediterráneo, típica de su tierra de origen, caracterizan la obra pictórica que Juan Soler realiza en Nápoles. La luz y el "blanco cálcico" son para él su segunda matriz genética, que acarrea como bagaje cultural dentro de sí, transfiere y traduce en su obra de artista versátil y de fuerte temperamento.

Sus figuras, siluetas aisladas y deslumbradas por la luz, se recortan herguidas como esculturas que reposan en vastas extensiones de tela. Las figuras, creadas, las más de las veces con girones de carteles arrancados de los muros de las calles napolitanas se convierten, en su contexto pictórico, en imágenes de un mundo hecho con inmediatez y esencialidad.

His figures, extensive silhouettes dazzled by light, are cut up as sculptures that rest on vast stretches of cloth.
